AMT Opens Southwest Regional Office in San Antonio, TX
After building our business for 17 years from our headquarters
in the Detroit area, we are expanding into new areas to
bring us closer to key customers and partners.
Earlier this year we opened up a facility in San
Antonio, TX, to support our growing activities with auto
manufacturers, Tier 1's and general industry in the
Southwest. And we are now in the final planning
stages for a new facility in St. Louis, scheduled to
open in October.

AMT Knows Robot Safety-Top to Bottom
From cell layout to controls design, AMT
has engineered thousands of robot systems to the latest
RIA / ANSI 1506 safety standards. Our controls
group in particular works daily with the latest safety
sensors, light curtains, safety controllers, interlocks
and all major robot models. We can evaluate your
current designs, retrofit active cells, or help you
implement your own safety specs to industry standards on
new installations. We can also train your staff on
proper safety implementation and procedures.
Contact us today to talk about the ANSI / RIA
standards, and how we can help your plant safety program.

AMT Establishes Vision Center of Excellence
Stop
by our Michigan headquarters for a tour of our new
vision lab - AMT's Vision Center of Excellence.
We've been successfully helping integrators and
manufacturers with complex 2D and 3D vision guidance
applications for years, and have established this lab to
take our vision consulting to the next level. We
have the latest hardware and software from leading
vision and robot companies, and the capability to create
and validate even the most demanding applications.
AMT is unique in our
ability to deliver a full range of engineering and
design services for vision projects, from simulation to
tool design, from software to training. Let us
show you how the current generation of vision systems
are solving real manufacturing challenges - effectively
and reliably.

Transition Training: Effective and Efficient
From skilled trades to advanced engineering, AMT has
delivered training throughout the automation industry
for 17 years. One area we have excelled in is
transition training - in fact, we don't think there is
anyone better. Transition training helps
organizations who are familiar and skilled with one
brand of robot transition to another brand, building on
the current in house skills by helping technicians and
engineers focus on the key differences between brands
and models.
Why are we the best at
transition training? We support all the major
models, and have developed detailed training curriculums
for our own in-house training and development. We
know perfectly well how to take an engineer skilled on
one brand and move those skills to support another brand
- we do it every week. Robot companies offer
excellent intro and advanced courses in their products,
but can't address the unique differences between models
that are at the core of transition training.
If your company is
transitioning from one robot brand to another, give AMT
a call. Most transition courses can introduce a
new model in a matter of days, not weeks. Just
tell us what robot brands and models you want to
transition to and from, and what groups need to be
trained. We'll take it from there, providing you
with a detailed training plan.

Engineering Convergence Solves the Unsolvable
Occasionally it all comes down
to the gripper - the End-of-Arm-Tool. In a recent
Ford project integrated by line builder KUKA Flexible
Production Systems, AMT was asked to design a complex 4
function tool in a tight machine loading
application. No EOAT solution, no robot
application - the tool was key to this section of the
line making overall cycle time.
How do you solve such a complex
design challenge? Convergence - bring mechanical
design, robot programming and simulation engineers
together to concept, validate, design and program the
best solution. The results? Amazing,
combining the tool geometry and the robot's articulation
to the max to pick up and deliver all 4 parts within
cycle time.
AMT is uniquely capable of
solving the most demanding application issues, from cell
layout to EOAT design and final programming. We do
it with convergence, leveraging our in-house design,
simulation and programming resources to deliver
engineered solutions that work first time, every
time.
If you're an OEM, integrator or
end user with an application problem, bring it to
AMT. Contact us at marketing@appliedmfg.com
for details.
PS: We do a heck of a good job
on the simple projects as
well!

AMT Offers TOYOPUC PLC Support

Toyoda Machinery's Toyopuc PLC's have a large
market share in Japan, and are gaining ground in
the US with Japanese auto manufacturers and their
Tier 1 suppliers. AMT stands ready to help with
trained and experienced controls engineers who can
design, program, troubleshoot and start-up Toyopuc
controlled systems. And since Toyopuc PLC's are
commonly used as safety controllers, often
embedded inside a robot controller, AMT has cross
trained many of our robot programmers as well. Contact us today.
