Robotic Simulation
Eighteen years ago, AMT identified robotic simulation as a disruptive technology, one that would fundamentally reshape how automation was engineered, designed and deployed. Robotic Simulation promised a virtual world, where concepts and ideas can be quickly created and validated, and where programs and paths can be developed offline rather than in real time on the factory floor.
Today, simulation is one of AMT’s core technologies, and every day we deliver the real benefits promised 18 years ago. AMT has 50 qualified simulation engineers, helping customers ensure first time quality on robot projects in all application areas and every market segment.
Technology Description
Robotic simulation is an iterative analysis involving 3D animated representation of robotic operations as a means to validate operations and processes prior to major engineering investments or capital equipment expenditure. By simulating off-line, we can test robot reach characteristics and fine tune tooling design and equipment placement in a virtual 3D world which reduces integration and installation costs on the floor.
Benefits
- Conceptualization of robotic processes
- Mechanical design validation
- Facilities planning and optimization for robotic operations
- Robotic workcell safety analysis and recommendations
- Cycle time validation and optimization
- Lead time reduction for system installation and commissioning
- Risk mitigation through virtual validation
- Optimized productivity and utilization of equipment
- Lean manufacturing through offline programming and validation practices
