AMT is on the hunt for a full-time Senior Automation Engineer. This role requires extensive knowledge of industrial automation including robotics and controls. Project based travel may require out of state work at customer site for months at a time returning home every other weekend. Past projects have included customers in Colorado, upstate New York, and various locations across the U.S. Some projects require international travel. Past international projects required onsite work in Peru, Australia, England, Saudi Arabia, France, China, and other countries.

Job Summary
The person in this role will be key to the success of their projects. Project based travel is required. (This is not a field service position.) The majority of the projects are in the United States.

Regular responsibilities include:

  • Support of electrical project execution including controls engineering, SCADA design, robot programming, PLC and HMI programming
  • Site support of system startup
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Participation in the development, construction and installation of custom equipment builds
  • Mentor AMT engineers in areas of expertise

Deep knowledge and experience in:

  • Controls hardware and software (Rockwell and/or Siemens) and HMI programming
  • Networks and communications (Ethernet, DNET, etc.)
  • Drives (VF, servo, etc)
  • Safety systems (Guard Logix, Safety PLCs, etc.)
  • Robot programming
  • Project management

Preferred knowledge in:

  • FANUC robot programming (offline program development, DCS, iRVision)
  • Kuka robot programming
  • Experience with powertrain, material handling, vision guided robots, packaging/palletizing applications
